Shri Kishore Chandra Patra Assumes Charge as Executive Director and Head of Project, NTPC Korba


Korba, June 2026: NTPC Limited has elevated Shri Kishore Chandra Patra as Executive Director and Head of Project, NTPC Korba (2600 MW), one of the largest and most significant thermal power stations of the company. With this elevation, Shri Patra assumes overall leadership of the station, bringing with him more than 36 years of rich and diverse experience in power plant operations, maintenance, project management, and organizational leadership.
A distinguished professional and seasoned power sector leader, Shri Patra has made significant contributions across various NTPC stations and corporate assignments throughout his illustrious career. Prior to his elevation as Executive Director, he served as Head of Project, NTPC Korba, where he successfully guided the station with a strong focus on operational excellence, safety, reliability, sustainability, and stakeholder engagement.
An alumnus of UCE Burla and a Mechanical Engineering graduate, Shri Patra joined NTPC in 1989 as an Executive Trainee. Over the years, he has held several key positions at prestigious NTPC establishments including Farakka, Talcher Kaniha, NBPPL (Noida), ER-II Headquarters (Bhubaneswar), and Vallur. His extensive experience has enabled him to drive plant performance improvements, enhance operational efficiency, and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Widely respected for his technical expertise, strategic vision, and people-centric leadership style, Shri Patra has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to NTPC’s core values of business excellence, safety, integrity, and sustainability. He has also undergone extensive professional development programs at the Power Management Institute (PMI) and other reputed institutions in areas such as advanced management, safety leadership, financial management, corporate governance, sustainability, and technical excellence.
On assuming his new responsibilities, Shri Patra reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening NTPC Korba’s position as a flagship generating station of NTPC. He emphasized the importance of operational excellence, technological advancement, environmental stewardship, employee development, and meaningful community engagement in achieving the organization’s long-term objectives.
Under his leadership, NTPC Korba is poised to further enhance its contribution to the nation’s energy security while continuing its journey towards sustainable growth, operational reliability, and excellence in performance.
